About The Position

The Activity Assistant supports the Resident Programs team in leading and delivering resident programs for the community. Programs should engage all the senses and offer purposeful daily social and physical events that meet state requirements. The role includes carrying out assigned tasks that support the mission of the Resident Program Department, providing transportation when needed, supporting the Program Director, and implementing activities daily.

Requirements

High school degree.
Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge.
Clear and insurable driving record, current driver's license, and willingness to drive a passenger van.

Nice To Haves

Additional college experience is preferred but not required.
Experience in a senior living environment is strongly preferred.
Two years of experience in activities is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Resident Program team with planning, developing, and preparing exercises and social, recreational, and educational events.
Provide transportation for residents, including medical transportation.
Maintain knowledge of local communities, services, and events and incorporate them into the activity schedule when appropriate.
Establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
Promote teamwork and a positive attitude among staff.
Monitor or attend activities with other disciplines as needed.
Evaluate the quality and consistency of resident activities and make adjustments, corrections, or changes as necessary.
Support the Program Director as needed.
Implement resident activities daily.
Perform other duties as assigned.
