About The Position
Alto Warner Robins is seeking a creative, passionate Activities Assistant (Lifestyle Assistant) to lead life enrichment programming in our vibrant senior living community. With a consistent Tuesday–Saturday schedule, you'll always have Sunday and Monday off — giving you a true two-day weekend every week. If you have a heart for seniors and a talent for creating meaningful moments, we want to meet you. The primary responsibility of the Lifestyle Assistant is to assist the Lifestyle Director in providing a full-time social and activity program at the Community for all residents and families. Encouraging resident socialization, improving daily living skills, expanding personal interests, increasing physical activity and education. Making every effort to maintain and expand the lifestyle of all the residents.
Requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification — required
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record — required
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for senior care
- Basic knowledge of dementia care techniques and person-centered care
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or 21 to drive the company bus.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for the state where the vehicle is operated.
- Must possess high energy/enthusiasm, decision making, problem solving, planning/organization, and rapport building skills.
- Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
- Must have an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) record; the record must be checked annually.
- The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with older adults, especially those living with dementia or Alzheimer's — preferred
- Experience planning and leading recreational, social, or therapeutic activities — preferred
- Minimum one (1) year of related experience at an independent living, assisted living, or senior nursing facility preferred.
- CDL license a perk, may be required at some locations, inquire within.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging activities — arts & crafts, music, exercise, games, gardening, cooking, and more
- Adapt programming to meet residents' varying cognitive and physical abilities
- Encourage participation while honoring each resident's individual preferences and dignity
- Document resident participation and report changes in behavior or engagement
- Build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members
- Be the energy that makes Alto Warner Robins feel alive every single day
- Assist the Lifestyle Director in conducting and coordinating scheduled activities seven days a week for all the residents at the Community.
- Assist in preparing the monthly Lifestyle calendar, posting the calendar, and distributing it to all residents.
- Facilitate and support monthly resident council meetings and other resident meetings as directed by the Lifestyle Director.
- Assist the Lifestyle Director in contacting appropriate community groups and volunteers to perform specific activities and to assist in the Lifestyle programs.
- Assist in scheduling transportation for residents.
- Be prepared to drive the property vehicles on an as needed basis.
- Assessing residents’ social and lifestyle activity preferences.
