About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Lifestyle Assistant is to assist the Lifestyle Director in providing a full-time social and activity program at the Community for all residents and families. Encouraging resident socialization, improving daily living skills, expanding personal interests, increasing physical activity and education. Making every effort to maintain and expand the lifestyle of all the residents. This isn't a sit-at-a-desk job. This is your stage. We're looking for a Full-Time Activity Assistant who brings genuine energy, creativity, and heart to work every single day — someone who sees a group of seniors and thinks what can we do today that they'll still be talking about tomorrow?

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or 21 to drive the company bus.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the state where the vehicle is operated.
  • Must possess high energy/enthusiasm, decision making, problem solving, planning/organization, and rapport building skills.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • Must have an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) record; the record must be checked annually.
  • The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.
  • 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in activities, recreation, senior living, childcare, or event planning
  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience at an independent living, assisted living, or senior nursing facility preferred.
  • CDL license a perk, may be required at some locations, inquire within.

Responsibilities

  • Leading games, crafts, music, fitness, and social events that residents genuinely look forward to
  • Planning and running special events and community outings residents rave about
  • Building real relationships with residents — learning their stories, honoring their lives
  • Supporting Memory Care residents with thoughtful, dementia-friendly engagement
  • Driving residents on outings and being the reason they got out today
  • Helping keep programming organized, documented, and running smoothly
  • Assist the Lifestyle Director in conducting and coordinating scheduled activities seven days a week for all the residents at the Community.
  • Assist in preparing the monthly Lifestyle calendar, posting the calendar, and distributing it to all residents.
  • Facilitate and support monthly resident council meetings and other resident meetings as directed by the Lifestyle Director.
  • Assist the Lifestyle Director in contacting appropriate community groups and volunteers to perform specific activities and to assist in the Lifestyle programs.
  • Assist in scheduling transportation for residents.
  • Be prepared to drive the property vehicles on an as needed basis.
  • Assessing residents’ social and lifestyle activity preferences.
