Activity Assistant - Long Term Care- PRN
About The Position
The Activity Assistant will be responsible for conducting activities assessments on new admissions to the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. This role involves providing various activities such as crafts, cooking, Wii, and bingo, and maintaining a monthly calendar of these activities. The assistant will collaborate with OT/PT/SLP staff to offer patient-centered activities and document participation and tolerance in a flowsheet format within the EMR. Communication with the interdisciplinary rehab team, including physiatrists, is also a key part of the role. Most activities are provided in the evenings or on weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire

- Technical Skills - Some experience with crafts, cooking, and other leisure activities.

Responsibilities
- Conducts activities assessments on all new admissions to the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.

- Seeks input and direction from OT/PT/SLP staff to provide patient centered activities.
- Completes computer charting in flowsheet format to document participation and tolerance to activity.
- Communicates with interdisciplinary rehab team including physiatrist.
- Most activities are provided in the evenings or on weekends.
