Activity Assistant - Long Term Care- PRN
About The Position
The Activity Assistant will conduct activities assessments on all new admissions to the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. They will provide various activities such as crafts, cooking, Wii, and bingo, and maintain a monthly calendar of activities. The role involves seeking input from OT/PT/SLP staff to provide patient-centered activities and completing computer charting in flowsheet format to document participation and tolerance. Communication with the interdisciplinary rehab team, including the physiatrist, is also a key part of the role. Most activities are provided in the evenings or on weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire

- Technical Skills - Some experience with crafts, cooking, and other leisure activities.

- Basic Word computer skills
