About The Position

The Williamsport Home is seeking a part-time Activity Aide to enrich residents’ lives through engaging activities, social events, and meaningful interactions. The role involves supporting recreational, social, cultural, and educational programs, encouraging resident participation, and helping create enjoyable experiences for older adults. The position includes days and some evenings, with weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Positive, enthusiastic, and compassionate personality.
Genuine interest in working with seniors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Creative mindset and ability to engage residents of varying abilities.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in activities, recreation, healthcare, customer service, childcare, education, or a related field; experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and leading recreational, social, cultural, and educational activities.
Encourage resident participation and foster meaningful engagement.
Escort residents to and from activities as needed.
Help organize special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and entertainment programs.
Provide one-on-one visits and individualized activities for residents who may not attend group programs.
Assist with activity documentation and maintaining activity supplies.
Work with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to enhance quality of life.
