About The Position

Four Corners Regional Health Care Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community serving residents who receive long-term and short-term care. The Activities Specialist supports residents’ preferences, routines, and needs; leads activities suited to residents’ interests and abilities; and collaborates with the Activities Director and care team. The role involves working with a geriatric population in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in long-term geriatric care.
• May be exposed to bodily fluids and communicable illnesses.
• Full range of motion; ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Adequate vision and hearing, with or without assistive devices.
• Meets facility health and screening requirements.

Nice To Haves

• TRS or TRT certification preferred.
• Experience leading or supporting activities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and support each resident’s preferences, routines, and needs, and communicate updates to the care team.
• Lead individual and group activities aligned with residents’ interests and abilities.
• Adapt activities to residents’ cognitive and physical levels using prompts, demonstrations, and assistance.
• Encourage participation while respecting cultural and religious preferences.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe activity spaces.
• Store equipment and supplies properly after use.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director on programming and planning.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
