Requirements
- Ability to work evening hours and lead scheduled evening programs.
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn the PCC (PointClickCare) system.
- Compassionate, dependable, and positive attitude.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to engage residents in meaningful activities and adapt programs to individual needs.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in recreation, activities, therapeutic programming, or direct care preferred.
- Experience with resident documentation and care planning preferred, or the ability to learn.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead activities including crafts, music programs, exercise groups, sensory activities, videos/movies, social activities, and daily living skill programs tailored to residents' abilities and interests.
- Lead and facilitate evening programming, including running two scheduled evening activities.
- Assist with one-on-one interactions and group activities on assigned units.
- Develop, update, and document resident activity care plans in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
- Complete accurate documentation of resident participation, engagement, and responses to activities.
- Set up, maintain, and decorate activity areas to ensure a safe, efficient, and pleasant environment.
- Transport and seat residents for activities, meals, and special events.
- Monitor residents during programs, including those who may wander away from activity areas.
- Assist with meal tray service and transportation to and from meals as needed.
- Support other departments and assist with resident needs as necessary to ensure quality care and a positive resident experience.
