About The Position

Transitions Healthcare in Washington, Pennsylvania, is hiring an Activities Director to lead activity and volunteer programs and foster resident engagement, connection, and a sense of belonging. Reporting to the Administrator, the director develops and runs a program that supports residents’ social, emotional, physical, and therapeutic needs, and manages the department’s staff, resources, and daily operations. Prior experience and appropriate credentials are required.

Requirements

• Must be a Qualified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
• At least 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years.
• At least 1 year of full-time experience in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting.
• Prior experience and proper credentials are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and lead an activities program that supports residents’ social, emotional, physical, and therapeutic needs.
• Hire, train, and retain qualified department staff.
• Manage and maintain activity supplies and resources.
• Coordinate and facilitate Resident Council meetings.
• Oversee day-to-day department operations and management responsibilities.
• Lead activity and volunteer programs.
