About The Position

As our Activities Director, you will be the heart and soul of our community's social life, responsible for supervising, planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of social programs to enhance the spiritual, social, physical, and mental well-being of our residents, as well as coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Activity Department. You will visit new residents to understand their interests, design and develop creative activities, promote resident participation, and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth event execution. Additionally, you will oversee the community newsletter, manage the monthly activity calendar, maintain decorations, supervise spending, and prepare the annual budget for activities. You will also review resident feedback to improve the program, engage with local senior organizations, and conduct annual surveys to assess resident satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to drive residents in community bus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including nights and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High school graduate or equivalent education.

  • Courses in therapeutic recreation and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising, planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of social programs to enhance the spiritual, social, physical, and mental well-being of residents.
  • Coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Activity Department.
  • Visiting new residents to understand their interests and record this information in their profiles.
  • Reviewing resident profiles and attendance forms to ensure accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
  • Designing and developing creative activities, including outings, trips, and special events.
  • Promoting and encouraging resident participation in activities.
  • Working with other department heads to coordinate events and programs.
  • Ensuring transportation is available for residents to attend activities and events.
  • Assisting in promoting the community and its activities.
  • Overseeing the development and distribution of the community newsletter.
  • Preparing and reviewing the monthly activity calendar with the Administrator.
  • Maintaining creative decorations and activity bulletin boards.
  • Supervising spending and assisting in preparing the annual budget for activities.
  • Reviewing compliments, grievances, and suggestions to continuously improve the program.
  • Engaging with local senior organizations to find new opportunities for residents.
  • Conducting annual surveys to assess and improve resident satisfaction.
