About The Position

The Maureen & Craig Sullivan Youth & Family Services Center is centrally located between the 10th & Mission Family Housing and the Edith Witt Senior Community, providing direct access to the shared community courtyard. The Center serves as a vibrant hub where children, youth, families, and older adults come together to learn, connect, and build meaningful relationships. Through educational, recreational, and supportive programming, the Center seeks to reduce social isolation among older adults, strengthen family connections, promote youth development, and foster a thriving, inclusive intergenerational community.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of related experience and a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent OR Bachelor's degree in human services, adult education, or related field
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to plan group activities
  • Leadership abilities, teaching experience, ability to take-charge and/or make decisions as needed.
  • Knowledge of mandatory reporting requirements for people working with children, including laws and procedures related to child abuse matters.
  • Knowledge and experience in areas of arts and crafts, music, poetry, cooking, exercises, gardening, etc.
  • Promote a positive professional and organizational image in the community.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in cross-cultural situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with homeless and/or marginally housed families preferred.
  • Experience working with community agencies and resources, including large urban school districts
  • Second language skills in Mandarin/Cantonese, or Spanish highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement daily and weekly activities calendar and tasks calendar for families based on needs and expectations.
  • Assist in the development of parenting skills through the implementation of workshops, support groups, and presentations for program participants.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate a comprehensive calendar of educational, recreational, cultural, and wellness activities for youth, families, and seniors.
  • Plan and implement intergenerational programming that encourages relationship-building and community engagement among residents of all ages.
  • Coordinate tutoring, homework assistance, workforce readiness workshops, resume development, digital literacy, financial literacy, and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain safe, clean and organized activity areas.
  • Coordinates participant transportation.
  • Coordinate special events, seasonal celebrations, health fairs, educational workshops, and community-building activities.
  • Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive manner.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager, Site Manager, and Case Managers on needed resources and activities and support for activities as needed.
  • Attend meetings and training programs, as requested.
  • Is responsible for accurate and timely data entry that aids Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) reporting and case record reviews.
  • Is responsible for accurate and timely submission of case records.
  • Serves on a quarterly case record review committee for Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) reporting.
  • Serves on department or program Performance and Quality Improvement PQI Committee responsible for monitoring goals and reporting.
