About The Position

Martha and Mary Health Services is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and organized Activities Coordinator to bring positive engagement and fun to seniors in our Health Center. This role will coordinate and implement activities/programs which meet the needs and interests for the physical, mental and psycho-social well-being of the Health Service residents at Martha & Mary; encouraging supportive, positive, and joyful experiences for all. Examples of activities include Horticulture classes, group exercises, intergenerational programming, crafts, and woodworking.

Requirements

  • Someone who shares our dedication and compassion to those in our care.
  • Someone who has enthusiasm for fun and client engagement/interactions
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and implement activities for residents, including volunteers and other staff.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Someone with a high school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of WA State skilled nursing activity assistant regulations helpful but not required.
  • Someone who has at least 2 years of experience leading group activities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning and execution of activities on assigned unit, including special events.
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of activities/programs for residents.
  • Conduct assessments as directed.
  • Assist with coordination and planning resident outings.
  • Assist in transporting residents in wheelchairs to and from activities.
  • Assist with and/or coordinate and instruct participation of volunteers and Activities Assistants with residents.
  • Assist in management of activity equipment and supplies.
  • Manage and implement the Music & Memory Program.
  • Document as required to reflect resident engagement and experiences, including care plans, legal documentation, and assessments.
  • Assist in the care and assessment of facility pets.
  • Assist in dining rooms as a feeding assistant to support direct care mission.
