About The Position

The HI Banff Alpine Centre is seeking a full-time Activities Coordinator to manage the guest and staff experience, contributing to the overall atmosphere and vibe of the hostel. This demanding role requires a unique set of skills, including organizing activities and events in the on-site pub, which necessitates enjoying late-night socializing. The position involves developing partnerships with local businesses, managing social media, booking live bands, and leading outdoor excursions like hikes and bike rides. Additionally, the Activities Coordinator is responsible for organizing staff activities and overseeing the HI-MAZING race.

Requirements

Fun, outgoing, and charismatic individual.
Not afraid of a challenge.
Keen to become the best activities coordinator imaginable.
Previous experience in event management.
Some bar experience.
Great public speaking abilities.
Competent with video editing tools, making reels, and have a knack for great content.
Great level of fitness.
Ability to have a good time and involve others in the process.

Responsibilities

Organizing activities and events in the on-site pub.
Fulfilling host/MC duties and making new friends on a daily basis.
Developing partnerships with local businesses.
Managing the social media pages for the property.
Booking live bands to play.
Taking guests out for day hikes, bike rides, or strolls to the market.
Organizing staff activities, staff BBQs, and staff days.
Overseeing the HI-MAZING race.
