About The Position

The Activity Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing the Activity function at the Hospice House, ensuring compliance with Title 22 Regulations. This role involves timely assessments and documentation of patients' socialization and activity needs, maintaining and upgrading inventory and supplies for the department, educating and training Hospice House staff on the role and function of the Activities Department, and providing and developing a variety of activities for a Short Stay Activity Program. These activities encompass social, indoor and outdoor, religious, residential council, creative, educational, and exercise programs.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past 5 years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Satisfactory completion of at least 36 hours of training in a course designed specifically for the position.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
