About The Position

The Activities Aide is responsible for providing meaningful activities to the residents and works collaboratively with the Activities team to maintain a steady flow of activities that are designed to meet the physical, mental, and social well-being of our residents. Maine Veterans’ Homes is a nonprofit organization with a mission of Caring for Those Who Served. Nationally recognized for excellence in person-centered care, we proudly serve Maine’s Veterans and their families across six Homes.

Requirements

• Ability to organize and direct small and large group activities
• Interest in activities and working with the geriatric population
• Must have flexibility to work some weekends and holidays
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
• Requires proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English is required.
• Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required.
• Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

• Geriatric activities experience preferred
• CNA certification a plus
