About The Position

Hayden Grove of St. Anthony is looking for an energetic, friendly Activities Assistant to join our team! This interim position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with seniors, creating engaging experiences, and bringing energy and positivity to our community. The job objective is to assist the Director of Life Enrichment in planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the resident’s social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs in an Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care setting.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
Currently possess a Class C license, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.
Strong organizational skills
Good work ethic
Maintains confidentiality.
Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

Assisting Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
Assessing resident’s recreational and social needs.
Supporting development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
Leading small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.
Researching and recommending to Coordinator entertainment/educational speakers/church representatives, etc.
Supporting coordination of transportation needs to outside events/programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Accompanying residents on field trips as assigned.
Working cooperatively with assigned volunteers and directing their assignments to support the resident programming.
Maintaining the STSW bus interior and exterior.
Reporting maintenance needs in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
