About The Position

Maefair Center for Health & Rehabilitation, a Certified Great Place to Work and affiliate of National Health Care Associates, is seeking an Activities Assistant. This role involves planning and implementing recreational and therapeutic activities to foster a positive and lively atmosphere for residents. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating engaging experiences for seniors and making a genuine difference in their lives.

Requirements

  • TRD certificate required
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both

Nice To Haves

  • Long Term Care Setting preferred
  • Previous experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but not required - training will be provided

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents
  • Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs
  • Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar
  • Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance
  • Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents
  • Document and maintain records of residents' participation in activities
