About The Position

Works under the direction of the Director of Activities by assisting in carrying through activity programs that are designed to meet the needs of every resident. This role involves working with staff and residents, maintaining records, and running entertainment programs for residents. Availability for weekends, holidays, and evenings is required.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• 1 year experience in LTC Activities or as a CNA.
• Freedom from illegal use of drugs, and freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
• Must not have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting.

Responsibilities

• Assures that every resident is informed of the activity program by posting the monthly calendar on each floor, distributing copies to each resident's room, listing daily programs on the daily board in the lobby, and announcing activities prior to beginning on the PA system.
• Attends in-service programs as directed.
• Maintains appropriate records relating to program attendance and individual visits.
• Records comments in resident records as directed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
