About The Position

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking an Activities Assistant to support meaningful, resident-centered programming for seniors, including residents living with memory loss. The role helps residents experience purpose, connection, and dignity through familiar routines and structured activities tailored to their interests and abilities.

The position includes developing and implementing individualized Life Skills, engaging residents in daily routines, organizing small groups and enrichment clubs, and adapting activities to residents’ cognitive abilities. The Activities Assistant reviews resident information to tailor programming, documents participation according to quality standards, maintains activity stations and supplies, encourages team members and volunteers to support engagement, and assists residents to and from activities.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working with memory-impaired seniors.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Age 21 or older.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt activities to cognitive ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized Life Skills based on resident interests and abilities.
• Engage residents daily in meaningful, familiar routines.
• Organize small groups and enrichment clubs.
• Review ISPs, Resident Profiles, and demographic information to tailor activities.
• Document participation according to quality standards.
• Maintain Life Skills stations and program supplies.
• Encourage team members and volunteers to support resident engagement.
• Assist residents to and from programs and activities.
