About The Position

The Activities Assistant is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading engaging activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical well-being, and overall quality of life for participants. This role works closely with the Activities Coordinator and program staff to ensure activities are person-centered, safe, and enjoyable. The Assistant will create an environment of warmth, caring, respect, and acceptance for the participants, act as a member of the interdisciplinary team as needed, and assist with day center meals and snacks. Requirements

  • Experience working with older adults is required.
  • Current SERV Safe Food Protection certification or obtained within first month of employment.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license, unlimited access to reliable transportation, and adequate automobile insurance maintained throughout employment.
  • Proficient in computer programs, particularly Microsoft office products.
  • Current CPR certification is maintained throughout employment.
  • Ability to learn EMR charting systems.
  • Effectively and respectfully communicate both verbally and in writing in a multitude of situations and settings, including highly emotional interactions.
  • Effectively work with and build relationships with others.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years’ experience in planning and leading activities preferred.
  • Experience working with clients who have some cognitive impairment preferred.
