About The Position

The Activity Assistant is responsible for conducting and assisting the resident's daily activities. This role guides activity programs to encourage socialization, provides entertainment, relaxation and fulfillment, and aims to improve daily living skills for residents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact or educate residents
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, clinical staff and providers
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Must be resident/customer service oriented, projecting professionalism and socio-economic and cultural sensitivity

Responsibilities

• Conducts and assists with scheduled daily activities for residents
• Follows daily event schedule encouraging residents to attend and participate in appropriate activities
• Maintains event decorations for activity room
• Conducts room visits and small group activities
• Assists in identifying and monitoring the social, recreational and emotional needs and interests of each residents through routine interviews and visits
• Responsible for overseeing and serving in dining areas during meal times
