About The Position

Nestled in our private Redondo Beach peninsula, our hotel is your haven. The Portofino Hotel offers a delightful array of amenities and activities in our prime South Bay location just a stone’s throw from the communities of Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Manhattan Beach. The individual will assist with the daily operation of the Activities center including cashiering, watersports rentals, boat fueling and guest service. Responsible for arranging, executing and supervising all indoor and outdoor guests activity games/functions, providing privacy and safety. Administrate activities desk.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Provide legible communication.

  • Ability to: maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Exert physical effort in transporting 10 pounds to 40 pounds.
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all items sold in retail shop.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Set Up/Close Activities Station.
  • Assist with Maps and Directions.
  • Stock, Display and Loan/Rent Recreational Equipment.
  • Reserve Sporting Activities, when requested.
  • Coordinate Tournaments/Games.
  • Distribute Activities Sheets.
  • Conduct Guest Orientation.
  • Check out with Supervisor.
  • Pump fuel into boats.
