The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting in planning, coordinating, and implementing appropriate activity programs to meet the individual needs of our residents. The Activities Assistant will develop and implement activity programs which are appropriate to the residents based on varied backgrounds, emotional needs and interests. They will assist the Activities Director with an evaluation of each resident according to their backgrounds, activity interests, abilities, physical limitations and need for meaningful activity programs. The role involves documenting activity plans and progress notes as directed, working closely with the Activities Director to plan and set up each assigned activity, which includes gathering supplies and re-arranging rooms. The Assistant will also help in the development and distribution of monthly activity calendars to residents and posting these calendars throughout the facility, as well as assisting in the development and maintenance of facility newsletters. Compliance with safety requirements, infection control measures, and maintaining a clean work environment in accordance with facility policy is essential. The role also includes performing other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
