About The Position

Tennessee State Veterans' Homes is seeking two part-time Activities Assistant/CNAs to plan and organize engaging activities for residents. The role involves working closely with the Activities Director to implement programs and events suited to residents’ diverse interests and abilities. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with older adults and can develop stimulating activities that encourage social interaction and support residents’ well-being. The stated schedule is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Requirements

• An active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license is required.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact well with others.
• Passion for working with older adults and a creative mindset to develop stimulating activities.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with resident activities, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating a wide range of on-site and off-site activities and events for residents.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop monthly activity calendars reflecting residents’ needs, preferences, and abilities.
• Lead and facilitate group activities, including games, arts and crafts, exercise classes, music sessions, and outings.
• Provide individualized support and assistance to residents who need additional help or accommodations during activities.
