About The Position

The Inn at Stonecliffe is seeking a passionate and energetic Activities & Wellness Supervisor to lead and oversee recreational and wellness experiences for our guests. This role is responsible for curating, coordinating, and executing a diverse range of activities that enhance our guests’ luxury resort experience. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for wellness, adventure, and unreasonable hospitality, ensuring each guest engagement is collaborative and exceptional. This seasonal position will run from late April through late October. The Inn at Stonecliffe was built in 1904 and is located on beautiful Mackinac Island, Michigan. For centuries, Mackinac Island has been an ideal summer vacation spot with about 1 million visitors each year and about 15,000 a day during its main tourist season. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within a luxury resort, hotel, gym and/or hospitality setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Recreation Management, Wellness, or a related field preferred.
  • Dynamic leadership, team and personal management abilities.
  • Approachable guest service and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative and curious mindset with the desire to curate unique experiences.
  • Knowledge of and passion for wellness trends, outdoor recreation, culture immersion and fitness programming.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English.
  • Comfortable speaking in a group setting with an eye for detail and anticipation of individual needs.
  • Ability to lead and engage groups of guests of all ages in activities with enthusiasm, knowledge and professionalism.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Certified group fitness, yoga and/or personal trainer (desired).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically able to lift equipment, set up activity spaces, and be active throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with wellness team to prepare and execute special events, daily and weekly activities, classes and programs that allow guests to establish brand loyalty and maximally experience our wellness and luxury culture.
  • Engage with guests to anticipate needs to promote and sell additional activities tailored to their travel journey.
  • Establish and maintain cross departmental relationships to ensure successful execution of programming and retail and amenity offerings.
  • Help manage and finalize SOPs for all existing and new experiences.
  • Coordinate purchases; liaise with appropriate departments to organize, store or set up on property.
  • Communicate with experience vendors and hosts as needed for smooth daily operations.
  • Help to train, inspire and supervise the wellness experience expert and wellness & spa concierge to ensure seamless department readiness and effect.
  • Help execute creative design + touchpoint projects.
  • Coordinate design and printing of collateral on an as-needed basis.
  • Work with marketing team to fact check website to ensure experiences are up to date.
  • Set up and host experiences on property on an as-needed basis.
  • Gather and analyze feedback on experiences and programming to continuously improve.
  • Communicate with team members on upcoming experiences or events on a daily basis.
  • Manage and lead wellness associates.
  • Cultivate an environment of genuine hospitality to find ways to surprise and delight guest on a daily basis.
  • Enforce and maintain all wellness areas, equipment, and supplies are in pristine condition, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to and enforce health and safety guidelines for all wellness programs.
  • Help to manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize offerings while controlling costs and exceeding revenue goals.
