About The Position

The Ohio Veterans Homes, part of the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, are trauma-informed care long-term care facilities focused on providing excellent care to Ohio’s Veterans. The Veteran Homes provide direct nursing home care at facilities in Sandusky and Georgetown as well as domiciliary living to qualified veterans in Sandusky. Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Assists higher-level activity therapists in implementation of activity therapy.
  • Monitors residents participating in activity therapy & recreational activities.
  • Provides an environment that promotes resident socialization & interaction.
  • Escorts &/or transports residents to & from activities & provides assistance to volunteers transporting residents.
  • Maintains records of attendance &/or participation for Activity Plan of Care as well as other required activity therapy records; documents resident’s progress.
  • Attends staff meetings to provide input regarding resident participation.
