About The Position

Vancrest Healthcare is hiring an Activities Aide to help provide personalized care that prioritizes residents’ comfort and quality of life. The role involves planning, facilitating, and participating in fun and engaging activities, including small-group and one-on-one activities. The aide also supports residents’ individual interests and daily activity preferences, collaborates with other departments, and assists with activity-related documentation.

Requirements

Demonstrate a professional demeanor when facilitating scheduled activities.
Be capable of assessing resident interests and assisting with individual activity preferences.
Be able to collaborate with other departments and engage residents in group and one-on-one activities.
Be able to work core hours of 9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with some flexibility, and every other weekend from 12:30 p.m.–4:00 p.m.

Nice To Haves

Nursing home activities experience.
State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) credential; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Plan fun activities for residents.
Help with and participate in engaging activities.
Facilitate activities according to the scheduled calendar.
Engage residents in small-group activities and provide one-on-one time.
Assess individual residents’ interests and assist them with their preferences for daily activities.
Collaborate with other departments to support meaningful resident engagement.
Assist with documentation of assessments, participation records, and other information required by the department leader.
Build trusting, professional relationships with residents, families, caregivers, and referral sources.
