About The Position

Memory Care Center at Emerald is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Aide to enhance residents’ quality of life by planning, implementing, and facilitating engaging recreational and therapeutic activities. The position calls for a passion for working with seniors and a commitment to supporting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. It is a full-time, hourly role in a clinical healthcare environment, with a Monday–Friday shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Genuine enthusiasm for working with seniors.
Ability to plan, organize, and lead diverse activities and programs.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.
Basic knowledge of therapeutic recreation practices.
CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

Develop and organize individual and group activities tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and needs.
Facilitate recreational programs, arts and crafts, games, music, and social events to promote resident engagement and interaction.
Build positive relationships with residents and their families to understand preferences and encourage participation.
Support residents in activities and provide assistance as needed.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and document activity outcomes.
Communicate with the healthcare team about resident interests and observed changes in well-being.
Coordinate with nursing staff, therapists, and other team members to support a holistic approach to resident activities.
Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas for new programs and improvements.
Ensure activities comply with facility policies and safety regulations.
Help maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
