Activities Aide - Life Enrichment - Full-Time
About The Position
Lourdes Noreen-McKeen Residence is a faith-based, nonprofit short-term rehabilitation and skilled geriatric care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. The Activities Aide – Life Enrichment assists with planning, organizing, and implementing the facility’s activity programs for residents. The role is full-time, with a scheduled shift from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus every other weekend and some holidays. The listed pay is $15 per hour. Duties include gathering activity information from residents or family members, assisting with resident activity assessments, arranging and supporting activities, helping residents access activities, and maintaining floor bulletin boards. Responsibilities may extend beyond those listed. Working conditions include bending, extended periods of standing and sitting, intermittent movement, assisting with resident evacuation as needed, and lifting equipment or supplies weighing more than 25 pounds. Work beyond normal hours and on weekends or holidays may be required.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience providing nursing home activities and enrichment to seniors is required.
- Able to lift equipment, supplies, and other items weighing more than 25 pounds.
- Able to work beyond normal hours and on weekends and holidays as necessary.
Nice To Haves
- HHA or CNA certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing the facility’s activities programs.
- Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
- Assist the Activity Director with preliminary and comprehensive assessments of each resident’s activity needs.
- Review assessments as necessary and at least quarterly.
- Assist in scheduling movies, planning parties, and providing games and activities for residents.
- Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts and provide materials as necessary.
- Assist with transporting residents to activities.
- Complete floor bulletin boards monthly.
- Assist with the evacuation of residents as needed.
