About The Position

Cogir Senior Living is seeking an energetic, vibrant, and creative Active Living Manager to enhance the quality of life for residents by developing and implementing engaging programs. This role involves creating monthly calendars and newsletters, scheduling events, and evaluating program offerings to foster wellness, social interaction, and happiness. The Active Living Manager will embody the organization's core values, lead their team to do the same, and oversee an active volunteer program. Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in recreation/active living.
  • One (1) year of leadership experience working with mature adults and seniors in a related setting.
  • Minimum 2 year post-secondary education in the field of recreation/active living, leisure studies, gerontology, social services, kinesiology, health promotion, health sciences or a related field.
  • Current F Class/Class 4 license or ability to obtain.
  • Current certification in CPR/first aid.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications or training in gerontology, senior's fitness, Dementia/Alzheimer's, wellness interventions, SmartServe, Food Handling and volunteer management are considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of program adaptations and modifications to benefit individuals with cognitive, physical and sensory impairments.
  • Creative and enthusiastic approach to program development and special event design.
