About The Position

The Activation Specialist for Athens Radio represents the radio stations as a Brand Ambassador at events and on social media. The role also supports the promotions team in the office by preparing for events, fulfilling contests and prizing, and creating content across departments. This is an entry-level, part-time position with opportunities to shadow current CMG employees and assist with videography, graphic design, social media, marketing, promotions, event planning, sales, and programming.

The position requires exceptional communication skills and an energetic personality. Regular work on nights, weekends, and holidays is required, along with the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Must be a professional team player with customer focus and the ability to take initiative and follow direction.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be adaptable and professional, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a high-speed environment.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and the ability to tailor copywriting to each station’s brand voice.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the year.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework in marketing, public relations, or digital media.
• Videography, event coordination, customer service, and/or social media skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the public at events, including client locations, festivals, and concerts, sometimes maintaining high energy for several hours.
• Present a professional image at events, in the office, and on social media.
• Represent each radio station in the cluster by demonstrating knowledge of and passion for its brands.
• Set up and break down station sound and promotional equipment, including tents, banners, speakers, and audio PA systems.
• Create and post engaging content, photos, and video on station social media.
• Assist with organization and maintenance of station vehicles and promotional equipment.
• Prepare accurate and detailed event recaps for management.
• Communicate effectively with listeners by email, phone, and in person.
• Assist other station departments as needed, including digital content, programming, sales, and engineering.
