Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must currently hold or be able to attain a forklift license.
  • Must exemplify excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, written and oral.
  • Good mathematical, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Able to work in various locations within and outside the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities by coordinating manpower, assigning work, facilitating pre‑shift meetings, managing break relief, and ensuring clear shift hand‑off communication.
  • Ensure safe operations by enforcing Magna/OSHA standards, conducting pre‑shift inspections and safety talks, maintaining evacuation routes, and responding immediately to accidents and investigations.
  • Drive production performance by operating equipment as needed, supporting start‑ups, monitoring WIP and inventory, achieving first‑time quality, and meeting efficiency and delivery targets.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, including hourly production data, downtime tracking, performance reporting, and up‑to‑date work instructions.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members through on‑the‑job training, performance feedback, and skills development; provide recommendations on training and performance needs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by administering corrective actions, participating in lean/5S activities, coordinating engineering changes, and promoting quality and innovation.
  • Foster strong cross‑functional communication and team leadership by supporting company vision, resolving issues objectively, collaborating with other departments, and ensuring consistent execution across shifts.
