About The Position

Jack Laurie Group is hiring an experienced ACT Ceiling Installer for its Interiors division in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role focuses on installing acoustical ceiling tile (ACT), drop ceilings, and suspended ceiling grid systems in commercial environments. This is not an entry-level position; candidates must have hands-on experience installing acoustical ceiling systems.

The installer will work on local projects, coordinating with foremen, project managers, and other trades while maintaining quality, safety, and project timelines. Requirements

• Prior hands-on experience installing ACT, acoustical ceilings, or drop ceilings.
• Strong knowledge of suspended ceiling systems and grid layout.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and construction documents.
• Experience working on commercial construction job sites.
• High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with metal stud framing or drywall.
• Experience on large-scale commercial interior projects.

Responsibilities

• Install acoustical ceiling tile (ACT), drop ceilings, and suspended ceiling grid systems.
• Lay out and build ceiling grid systems to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
• Measure, cut, and install ceiling materials accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and project timelines.
• Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades on-site.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
