About The Position
Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning parks and recreation agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational programs, classes, and events as well as facilities, parks and open spaces! Schaumburg Park District has multiple dance studios that feature sprung wood floors, mirrors and ballet barres to accommodate dancers of all skill levels and abilities!
Requirements
- Skilled in ballet and acrobatics.
- Knowledge of safety and spotting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Positive, friendly, encouraging, supportive, effective communicators, effective teachers, reliable, punctual and organized.
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching experience.
- Bachelor's degree and/or teaching certificate.
Responsibilities
- Teach multiple skill levels for dancers aged 4-13 years.
- Follow curriculum to teach age-appropriate skills.
- Create recital choreography.
- Follow program policies including rescheduling and/or make-up classes.
- Prepare students for an annual recital.
