About The Position

The Acquisition Specialist II supports HUD Contracting Officers, Contract Specialists, and CORs throughout the acquisition lifecycle, from planning and market research through award, administration, and closeout. The role prepares preliminary drafts and analyses, researches regulations, performs consistency and completeness checks, and maintains acquisition files and trackers. This is a support role. Contracting Officers retain all acquisition decision-making authority and approve and issue solicitations, awards, and modifications on behalf of the Government. The specialist’s work products are preliminary and subject to Government review. This is an independent contractor engagement at $115,000 per year for the full-time Base Period. Continued work during Option Periods depends on HUD exercising each option and on available funding. The agreement ends automatically if HUD cancels the supporting task order. The contractor must give McGarity at least seven days’ notice before ending the engagement and provide their own equipment and workspace. McGarity is closed on Federal holidays; planned time offline is shared with the McGarity lead two weeks in advance. Applicants should send a resume and a short cover letter describing their Federal acquisition experience and FAC-C certification to Lelyn Knowlden at [email protected]. The McGarity Consulting Group, Inc. is committed to equal opportunity and considers qualified applicants without regard to protected characteristics.
