About The Position

As an Acquisitions Manager at Great River Learning (GRL), you will be responsible for identifying business opportunities with colleges and universities, interviewing professors, and persuading potential author candidates to develop interactive and engaging materials. You will work within an assigned territory covering Ohio and Pennsylvania, requiring you to reside in one of these states. This role involves approximately eight weeks of travel per semester to college campuses. The company focuses on developing next-generation, media-rich textbooks that are more engaging than traditional ones, aiming to improve the college student and professor experience.

Requirements

Previous sales experience
Possesses a bachelor's degree with two years of sales experience.
Possesses a valid driver's license.
Must reside within Ohio or Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

Proactively plan and schedule your week ahead by sending emails and making phone calls to schedule meetings.
Run meetings to interview, identify business opportunity, and recruit select college professors to become GRL authors.
When travelling, make the most of time on campus by making additional phone calls to higher priority contacts or department chairs.
Follow-up with prospective and existing authors, keeping notes and next steps in the CRM for all prospective, in-development, and existing publications.
