About The Position

Article Student Living is recruiting a Real Estate Investment Intern for its 2027 summer internship program. The intern will support the Investments team and report to the Head of Strategy, gaining practical experience in real estate acquisitions and development. The 10-week program runs from June 7 to August 12, 2027, and includes lunch-and-learns, systems training, and an end-of-internship project presentation. Compensation is $25 per hour. The position is based at the company's Chicago, Illinois, office, with on-site work 4 to 5 days per week.

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in finance, economics, real estate, or a similar field.
• Demonstrated interest in real estate investment and development.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to maintain complex spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of PowerPoint.
• Analytical and creative approach to new challenges.
• Diligence, productivity, composure, and ability to meet deadlines and collaborate across levels.
• Motivation and pride in one's work.
• Team orientation and willingness to help when needed.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to detailed financial modeling for acquisitions and developments.
• Assist with local market research and analysis of data and trends across major university markets.
• Help prepare investment presentations and packages for senior executives, investors, lenders, partners, and others.
• Work with the Investments team on cash flow waterfalls and sensitivity analyses.
• Support the Asset Management team on asset business plans and strategies.
