The purpose of the role is to help clients with technical evaluation for acquisitions, divestitures and financial solutions to meet their business objectives. This involves the analysis of technical (petroleum / reservoir engineering) data to provide inputs for financial models used to market client's assets or to assist with investment opportunities. The role also includes providing engineering support for transactions, such as drafting presentation materials and preparing data room documents, and collaborating with other team members in generating A&D / M&A ideas for clients. Building and leveraging a network of industry contacts is crucial to stay informed about the technical aspects of the business and to utilize that knowledge for related pitch work and assignments. The Analyst is expected to perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard, consistently driving continuous improvement. This role requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise, with a thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts. For individual contributors, the expectation is to develop technical expertise in their work area, acting as an advisor where appropriate. The role will have an impact on the work of related teams within the area and will partner with other functions and business areas. The Analyst takes responsibility for end results of operational processing and activities, escalates breaches of policies/procedures appropriately, and takes responsibility for embedding new policies/procedures adopted due to risk mitigation. They advise and influence decision-making within their area of expertise and take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to their work. Delivery of work and areas of responsibility must be in line with relevant rules, regulations, and codes of conduct. Maintaining and continually building an understanding of how their sub-function integrates with the function, alongside knowledge of the organization's products, services, and processes within the function is expected. Demonstrating an understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organization's sub-function is also key. Evaluative judgments will be made based on the analysis of factual information, with attention to detail. Problems will be resolved by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience, guided by precedents. The Analyst will guide and persuade team members and communicate complex/sensitive information. They will act as a contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside the team and external to the organization.
