About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Acoustical Technician to join its Building & Construction team in Lake Forest, California. The role supports acoustic testing and laboratory operations, including compliance reviews, equipment and chamber upkeep, accreditation, quality assurance, testing, and communication with clients about test requirements and results. The position may require business-related travel estimated at 5–10% of the time.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
General working knowledge of test equipment, test methods, and applicable acoustics specifications.
Technical competence to communicate acoustic testing procedures, specifications, and results effectively to technicians and customers.
Knowledge of applicable industry organizations, codes, and specifications.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro.
Ability to travel as business needs dictate; estimated travel may be 5–10% of the time.
Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds over the course of an 8-hour day.
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.

Engineering-related degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with applicable parameters.
Oversee calibration, maintenance, servicing, and occasional modification of equipment and acoustical chambers.
Support acoustical laboratory accreditation and quality assurance.
Communicate technical information.
Conduct testing as assigned.
Review and understand contract requirements and document deviations.
Communicate with clients about test preparation, procedures, progress, results, and reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
