About The Position

The Acoustic Engineer contributes to technical work on projects developing new intracardiac echocardiography products, including algorithms and transducers. The role conducts advanced development activities to create technology that improves image-guided therapy delivery in the structural heart disease space. The engineer applies acoustic wave propagation and signal-processing theory to design and specify cardiac imaging algorithms and imaging subsystems. The role participates in planning, designing, integrating, and implementing ultrasound imaging capabilities, including 3D intracardiac echo transducer technology and software. It also tunes intracardiac echo ultrasound systems for image quality and collaborates with Marketing and Product Management to define imaging-feature requirements for clinical applications and market needs. This is an office role based in or within commuting distance of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Office-based teams work in person at least three days per week. US work authorization is required; sponsorship is not available. Relocation benefits are not provided.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience with ultrasound signal and image processing and filter design.
  • Experience with ultrasound imaging, ultrasound beamforming, acoustic wave propagation theory, and ultrasound transducer design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of clinical applications of cardiac ultrasound.
  • Proficiency in Python, Matlab, and C++.
  • US work authorization; candidates requiring work-authorized visa sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered.
  • Reside in or within commuting distance of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
