About The Position

LMC Materials Testing LLC is hiring immediately for experienced ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I and ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector professionals to join our special inspections team in New York City. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, based in NYC (5 boroughs, project-based).

Requirements

Active ACI Level I and Level II Concrete Field Testing Technician certifications.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in concrete inspection or testing in a construction environment.
Strong understanding of concrete materials, testing procedures, and relevant ASTM and ACI standards.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites across the United States.

Nice To Haves

Experience with non-destructive testing methods and advanced concrete inspection technologies.
Familiarity with construction safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure or commercial construction projects.
Additional certifications such as ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician or ACI Aggregate Testing Technician.
Proficiency with digital reporting tools and software for inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

Perform concrete field testing (slump, air content, temperature, cylinder sampling) per ACI/ASTM standards
Conduct cast-in-place rebar placement inspections prior to concrete pour, verifying size, spacing, cover, and splice compliance with approved drawings
Document findings and prepare NYC DOB-compliant special inspection reports
Communicate with site superintendents, engineers, and DOB representatives on-site
Support progress inspections through project completion
