ACI Engineering Technician I performs field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. This role involves communicating with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives regarding construction sites, project requirements, and testing results. The technician will transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis, and prepare and submit data and observations in written and digital reports. Responsibilities include maintaining and cleaning equipment, vehicles, and work areas. There may be assistance with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites. Adherence to strict safety standards is required. Under close supervision, the technician will assist with tasks and perform basic testing and observation duties, providing clear documentation of findings and results. Communication with the Project Manager regarding data accuracy is essential, and documentation and results will be submitted as directed. The role involves progressively increased training and responsibility, maintenance of assigned equipment, and driving a vehicle. Safety rules, practices, and pre-task planning are mandatory, along with reporting any safety issues and maintaining quality standards.
