About The Position

Intertek is seeking an ACI Certified Construction Technician to join its Building & Construction team in Odessa, Texas. The role performs construction materials testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision or according to detailed controlled procedures. The technician may travel to projects throughout the local region, particularly West Texas, and should have experience in concrete testing, nuclear testing, and density testing. The technician operates testing equipment, conducts tests such as soil and concrete testing, assesses data, and prepares reports. The position involves using drawings, specifications, and diagrams; observing site activities; documenting test results; communicating with clients and project teams; and following safety practices and policies. Overnight travel of 25–50% is required. Off-shift work and overtime may be needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Construction Materials Testing experience.
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I Certification.
Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
Willingness to travel overnight; 25–50% travel is required.
Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills, and solid interpersonal skills.
Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
Ability to read and understand work plans.
Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
External or task-related certifications may be required depending on region and state.
