About The Position

Haleon is a manufacturing site for liquid, solid, and semi-solid health products, with complex regulatory factors, technical processes, and high-risk activities. Haleon is currently looking for a Raw Materials Buyer to join the Montreal (Saint-Laurent) team. As a Raw Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring the supply of raw materials, packaging components, and other inputs necessary for production to support the execution of the plant's manufacturing schedule. You will collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the availability of materials, optimize costs, maintain adequate inventory levels, and contribute to the overall performance of the supply chain, while respecting quality and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in French is required for this position to ensure effective communication and compliance with our operational and regulatory standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (procurement, supply chain, business administration, engineering, or related field).
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in procurement, raw material purchasing, material planning, or a related function.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, including SAP or equivalent systems.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external partners.
  • Experience in supplier management, negotiation, and performance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles.
  • Bilingualism in French and English.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS, CPIM, CSCP, APA certification or other relevant certification in procurement or supply chain.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, health products, food industry, or in a highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience in raw material, active ingredient, or packaging component management.
  • Knowledge of supplier qualification and quality management processes.
  • Experience in continuous improvement, inventory optimization, or cost reduction.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and formulate business recommendations based on results.
  • Bilingualism required - Due to the nature of the job duties, candidates must be bilingual in French and English (written/spoken) to be considered, as in their role, the incumbent must work closely with external/internal stakeholders in other provinces/countries who do not speak French.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and ensure the supply of raw materials, packaging components, and other inputs necessary for production.
  • Manage purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Production, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure material availability and operational continuity.
  • Optimize procurement costs, inventory levels, and planning parameters to support supply chain performance.
  • Participate in supplier evaluation and ensure their qualification is maintained according to quality and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate the resolution of supply, quality, or delivery issues with suppliers and internal partners.
  • Support new product launches as well as continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor performance indicators related to inventory and procurement, and recommend optimization actions when required.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
