We are seeking an outgoing, capable, and helpful associate to fill an associate position in Outdoor Power Equipment with a primary focus on Stihl. Stihl has been around since 1974 and is one of the best-known names in Outdoor Power Equipment. We are seeking an individual who can inform our customers of the differences between these products, advise them on what best fits their needs, register, fuel, and start their new equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Basic computer skills.
Ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Excellent phone and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics

Nice To Haves

1+yr small engine repair experience preferred
1+yr retail or hardware experience preferred

Responsibilities

Make repairs on all STIHL equipment brought in by customers
Project a positive representation of Ace Hardware of Brighton
Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when they leave the store
Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates
Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively
Build a strong product knowledge, knowledge of store layout, and location of products
Complete all 4 levels of training for STIHL – increase in pay after completion of each certification level
Order and stock product and parts for STIHL display and for repairs
Professionally engage with customers to assist with educating them on STIHL products to help them make an informed decision
Contacting the Warranty center for STIHL products - File warranty claims
Accurately diagnose the problem with equipment and sufficiently explain the problem and solution to the customer
Log all incoming repairs and successfully keep track of parts ordered and progress of completion of repairs
Provide realistic estimated time for repair
Must possess sense of urgency to complete and meet all deadlines, as if it were your own
All other duties as assigned
