About The Position

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol's Professional Standards is seeking an Accreditation Manager to join our Team! The Accreditation Manager will assist the Accreditation Director in the administration, coordination, and maintenance of the agency's CALEA, NCLEA, and any other accreditation programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from appropriately accredited institution AND one year of experience related to the area of assignment; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Ability to identify compliance deficiencies and assist with corrective action efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures agency policies, procedures, directives, and practices are aligned with current CALEA standards and NCLEA requirements and in accordance with accreditation requirements.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of applicable accreditation standards, interpretations, and revisions issued by CALEA and the North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation (NCLEA) program.
  • Monitors and tracks compliance with all applicable accreditation standards, ensuring timely completion and submission of proofs of compliance.
  • Maintains the agency’s accreditation management system (e.g., PowerDMS or equivalent), ensuring documentation is current, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Organizes, maintains, and updates accreditation files, including proofs, directives, annual reviews, and supporting documentation for all applicable standards.
  • Conducts routine internal assessments and audits to evaluate compliance with CALEA/NCLEA standards and agency directives.
  • Identifies deficiencies or areas of non-compliance and coordinates corrective action plans with affected divisions or units.
  • Assists in preparing for mock assessments, file reviews, and formal CALEA/NCLEA assessments.
  • Assists in the development, revision, and maintenance of agency policies and procedures to ensure alignment with accreditation standards.
  • Stays current on changes to CALEA and NCLEA standards, interpretations, and best practices and communicates updates to relevant staff.
  • Tracks assigned accreditation cycles, standard reviews, and reporting deadlines to ensure timely completion.
