Works alongside the full-time Accreditation Manager, overseeing accreditation processes for the Chesterfield Sheriff's Office; collaborates with the Sheriff's Office Inspector to formulate, implement, and communicate policies and procedures; manages the department's national and state accreditation processes to include ensuring compliance and training and various types of presentations to department personnel; conducts regular reviews with appropriate staff; revises department policy and procedure manuals and catalogs to ensure standard operating procedures are reliable and up-to-date and meet all current Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC), National Commission on Correctional Health (NCCHC), legislative mandates and judicial ratings. Other duties include providing direct or indirect service to citizens as assigned. Serves as the department's representative to the Virginia Law Enforcement Accreditation Coalition (VALEAC), also serves as a VLEPSC assessor and communicates regularly with the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS); and provides various presentations to command staff about accreditation, policies, and other planning issues. Perform other work as required.
