About The Position

This role is responsible for processing and following up on insurance claims for assigned Physician Practice locations until proper reimbursement is received. The Accounts Representative will monitor and review denials and unpaid claims, taking appropriate corrective action. This position requires utilizing various resources to expedite claim resolution, staying updated on carrier procedures, and ensuring timely completion of claims and assignments. The role also involves making necessary corrections on claims, processing mail and explanations of benefits, and handling hard-copy billing.

Requirements

• Typing, basic math calculations, computer oriented, and good verbal skills.
• Able to work without direct supervision, work well in a group setting.
• Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to recall details and health insurance procedures/processes.

• Previous experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Processes and follows-up on all assigned Physician Practice locations insurance claims until proper reimbursement is received.
• Monitors and reviews all denials and unpaid claims and take appropriate corrective action as necessary.
• Utilize telephone and various carrier websites as research tools to expedite resolution for issues.
• Review carrier manuals and websites for any new procedures implemented by carrier that are impacting claims.
• Consistently meet established completion times for claims/assignments.
• Makes all necessary corrections on claims for submission.
• Processes mail and explanation of benefits in timely manner.
• Processes hard-copy billing, documenting amount and date sent on office’s information system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
