About The Position

The Manager, Accounts Receivable Services is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the daily activities of their AR team including AR management, staff training and maintaining the client relationship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a physician business office setting or similar setting
  • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment
  • Must be reliable, responsible, goal oriented and flexible
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills in order to effectively communicate with patients, co-workers, insurance companies, hospital staff, and clients
  • Must possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications, for multifactor authentication and security purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors client inventory and insures that accounts are worked timely and accurately and collection goals are met
  • Monitors and coordinates follow up activities to ensure work assignments are equitable
  • Ensures that their team meets established quality and productivity standards and that necessary steps are taken to address those not meeting the standards
  • Ensures that their supervisors are performing timely and accurate productivity and quality monitoring according to the department’s established policies
  • Ensures that client specific policies and procedures are documented and followed by the team
  • Monitors client AR and proactively takes action to address any areas that are below acceptable standards
  • Provide assistance/resolution to external and internal client inquiries
  • Prepares and maintains reports or logs as required
  • Assists with the preparation of monthly client reporting
  • Regularly monitors Smartfeed assignments in the MPower Workflow system and ensures that accounts are appropriately assigned to Smartfeeds. Ensures that any issues identified are brought to the attention of the Director or Vice President as well as Customer Support
  • Reviews contract pricing where applicable and ensures that any issues identified are brought to the attention of the director and the contract management team
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of all healthcare related issues and regulations
  • Identifies issues and works with the Vice President to get them resolved
  • Provide training, monitoring and feedback as well as disciplinary action as necessary
  • Maintain a professional attitude
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Monitor team attendance and PTO usage
  • Other duties as assigned by their management team
  • Responsible for ensuring that remote client access to is disabled for terminated or transferred employees when applicable in a timely fashion
  • Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times and ensure all direct reports are trained and in compliance of said policies and procedures at all times.
  • Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and enforce such for all direct reports
  • Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties for your respective team
  • Report any security or HIPAA violations or concerns for your team to the HIPAA Officers in a timely fashion
