About The Position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the Accounting Department by processing invoices, preparing reports, managing customer accounts, and providing general accounting and financial administrative support. This role works closely with internal teams and external customers to ensure timely and accurate receivables of processing and collections.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent time‑management and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Local travel may be required
  • Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Active car insurance required
  • Pre‑employment background check required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • One (1) or more years of accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly Accounts Receivable, Retention, Customer Status, SLD, and E‑Rate deadline reports
  • Invoice customers, SLD entities, and service request jobs
  • Make collection calls related to lease customers, SLD, and service request work
  • Update and maintain USAC Open Invoices spreadsheets
  • Cost‑allocate new E‑Rate orders based on data received from the OA team
  • Update customer account details, including invoice distribution and email recipients, using information provided by the Project Management team
  • Coordinate correspondence between SLD and customers to support service certifications
  • Process and distribute monthly customer statements
  • Prepare and email collection letters as needed
  • Maintain and update E‑Rate tracking spreadsheets
  • Perform month‑end reconciliations
  • Provide backup support across the Accounting Department as needed
  • Attend weekly Accounting Department meetings
